The event will be Saturday, April 25th at 2 PM Est, 7 GMT, 11 PST. The event should last between 1 and 1 and a half hours.
There will be 32 slots for the event, and it will take place on the factions server.
All gear will be provided and will consist of 1 set of diamond armor and a diamond sword.
The winner will receive the Elite 1v1 tag before their name on the server, and will be recognized as the best pvper around.
There will be a separate thread for you to sign up on. Slots are given on a first come/first server basis. Once I have 32 applicants, I will randomize the list and create a bracket. I will also be looking for fill-ins the day of the event if you do not get a slot. Fill-ins will be put in in place of those that do not show up.
Post any questions you have on this thread.
Make sure you are on time to the event, if you do not make your allotted slot without alerting me first, you will be disqualified and banned from all future events.
The following are those currently banned from the event as they did not show up previously: trustpizza
Due to the amount of unused and forgotten plots on creative, we are going to be doing a wipe of the creative plots in 14 days. If you would like your plot to be kept and not wiped, simply build one block on it and it will register that you are still active. If you have not built upon your plot in the past 30 days, it will be deleted. Make sure to build on ALL plots you own, not just one.
That being said, this is a great opportunity for us to get some new ideas and experiences flowing into creative and the server as a whole.
As the titles suggests, we now have a Teamspeak 3 Server.
The ip is: ts.sparkade.net
When you go to join the Teamspeak, be sure to use the same name that you use for Minecraft so that we can tell who you are. To get access to your perms (i.e. getting Legend rank on the Teamspeak if you are Legend rank on the Minecraft server) contact a moderator in game and on the Teamspeak and they will work with you to get sorted.
I'm looking forward to speaking with everyone!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact a moderator or ask them below.
Relating back to the post I did the other week, I wanted to get a sense of what gamemodes people would want to see, so this thread is to vote on what you would like to see. This is all tentative, we don't really know if we are replacing creative yet, but it's always good to have the data in front of us before we change anything so we know exactly what to do and how to do it.
Anyway, I've listed some of the popular suggestions in the poll above. If I missed any, let me know in a comment. Feel free to debate anything in the comments as well.
Our community here at Sparkade grows daily, more people and new servers. We've begun to realize that maybe it's time we restructure our current Hub or build a new one entirely. We would like your input, what would you guys like to see?
Before I begin, I'm going to start by saying that EVERYTHING in this thread is tentative and still in the air. That being said, we may possibly be making some changes with the server offered in the future, and we wanted to hear some input from the community before we do any changes.
The first questions is one that I feel strongly about, but I'll let the server decide, and it is also what the poll is about: Should we keep the creative server up and running or should we take it down and replace it with something else? The argument for the closure is that it is one of the lesser populated servers, and could be replaced with something new. Feel free to debate this below.
The second question is, if we were to get rid of creative (not saying we will), what gamemode or minigame would you like to see? A separate thread with your suggestions will be made in the future with a poll for votes. Again, feel free to debate. The more debating, the better, as it lets everyone see what everyone is thinking and allows us to really get a feel for how everyone thinks.
Below are the list of approved mods that can be used on the server. The list is subject to change and will be updated frequently. If a mod in question is NOT on the list, ask about it below and we will look into it. Do not use it while we investigate it. Do not use any mods that are not on the list. If you are caught using a mod that is not on the list, you will be asked to remove it. Failure to comply will result in a ban.
Forge & LiteLoader - These two mods are usually needed to run most of the mods that exist for Minecraft.
Armor Status HUD - Gives you a display showing the damage your armor has taken.
Damage Indicators Mod - Shows the health of whatever you're fighting (Player/Mob).
Direction HUD - Self explanatory I believe, shows you which direction you are heading.
Status Effect HUD - Gives you a display of what potions you have in effect and how long they have left.
Macros Mod - Gives you the ability to use commands with a the press of a single key (/feed, /tpaccept etc etc). Do not use to spam chat. Any instance of this being used for anything other than simple commands or chat messages, it will be constituted as cheating and proper punishment will be used.
MapWriter - Gives you a top side view of the area you are roaming in. (Also the only MiniMap we currently allow. If you are having a problem with it, contact a moderator about alternatives.)
OptiFine - OptiFine provides you manly tools and enhancements that make running Minecraft much easier on your PC.
Inventory Tweaks - Although it will most likely do nothing, in theory it sorts your items in your chests. It is blocked by our server, however, due to its PvP implications. You are welcome to try it though.
Shaders - A mod that requires a VERY BEEFY computer to run. It completely overhauls the graphics and makes minecraft look amazing.
Cam Studio - A mod used frequently to film time lapses and builds. Most of the commands require OP and /fly to use, so no reason why you shouldn't be able to have it on if you'd like.
Too Many Items/ Not Enough Items - A mod that displays all items in the game on the right side of your screen whilst in your inventory. Useful for knowing recipes as well as item IDs.
Just a quick reminder about a couple of things that can hopefully clarify some instances.
Titles are only allowed for mayors inside of nations, and must be set by the head of the nation (usually the king). Towns may not have titles for members, not may nations have titles for members that are not mayors. It helps make the accomplishment of a nation stand out a bit more, and keeps chat less cluttered.
On a different note, if you have chests that need to be removed from a town, two prerequisites must be met. The land that the chests are on must be claimed by the town, and the mayor of the town has to be online and give permission for the chests to be removed. This ensures that the mayor and the staff member both know what's going on and can work together to make sure everything goes according to plan. Also regarding chests in a town, if a member leaves the town for whatever reason without taking their things with them, it is up to the mayor to decide what happens. As soon as they leave the town, the town then owns their items, and the mayor may do what they see fit with them. The only exception is if the player is kicked from the town by the mayor or by not being able to pay taxes, in which case they have a few days to collect their items before the town can repossess them.
If you have any questions, feel free to post below.
There have been a few issues that have arisen lately, so I'm going to try to stop them before they can manifest themselves fully.
First of all are signatures. We try to let you guys be as free as possible, but there are some limits we need to place down. Just use your own reason. Super large and obnoxious signatures are not permitted and will only serve in getting you a ban from the forums. Again, use your own judgement. If you even think that it might be a problem, don't take the risk. On that same note, keep the signatures appropriate. There haven't been many problems, and I want to keep it that way.
The second major problem is people posting on threads they have no business being in, namely reports and ban appeals. For ban appeals, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to be posting on them at all aside from staff and the individual that is making the appeal. Period. There is nothing that anyone can constructively add to those threads, so do not interfere. As for report threads go, the only reason you should even think about posting is if you have tangible proof that would enhance the report. We do not want nor do we need your opinion on the matter.
Thirdly, do not argue or fight on the forums. If you have a problem with someone, settle it somewhere else. This isn't the place for petty squabbles over nothing.
Fourthly, and lastly, trying to back seat mod is just as annoying on the forums as it is on the server. Don't do it.
Thanks guys, if you have any questions, post them below.
